AAUW of Virginia Public Policy Priorities 2009-2011
adopted at the AAUW of Virginia Convention April 25, 2009

Gender equity in education, employment, pay, retirement benefits, and public appointments

Public funds for elementary and secondary education to be used for public schools only

Access to quality health care and equity in women’s health research and treatment

Freedom from violence, bullying and sexual harassment in homes, schools, workplaces, and communities

Individual choice in reproductive decisions, including access to appropriate services, procedures, and medication

Access to quality dependent care

Programs that provide women with education, training, and support for success in the work force and society
