BACKGROUND

The AAUW of Virginia State Board has voted to provide financial assistance to branches in the areas of membership promotion, new member recruitment and mission-based programming.  The motion was put forth to encourage and promote special membership drives and programs.  Through community involvement at the local level, membership recruitment and retention can be improved which will enhance programs that focus more on our mission of equity for women and girls.

FUNDING INFORMATION

Up to 12 projects will be funded.  Recipients will be geographically diverse, and projects will represent a variety of relevant activities.
Only one proposal per branch will be considered for funding in any fiscal year. Projects will be developed, organized, and implemented between November 1, 2008 and May 30, 2009  (not those already completed before November 1, 2008). Each project award from the AAUW of Virginia board cannot exceed $100.00.
Proposals should be no more than two pages in length and the attached template must be used. An evaluation form must be submitted 30 days after the grant-funded activity/event is completed.  A template is provided and it is suggested that you look at it ahead of time to know what questions will need to be answered after the fact.  That may assist you in your planning.
