Norfolk State Satellite
in the Southeast District

AAUW of Virginia’s second Student Satellite was founded at Norfolk State University in 2006. Neola Waller, former AAUW of Virginia president, Dr. Marie McDemmond, former NSU president, and Dr. Amelia Ross-Hammond, Director of the Service Learning Center and an AAUW member, invited student leaders, honor students and others to a luncheon on campus. After seeing a presentation about AAUW, 28 college women joined to form the new satellite.
