Falls Church Area Branch
in the Northern District

About Contacts Programs Newsletter

Falls Church is a small town in Virginia and the Falls Church Area branch of AAUW is small, too. But we are ranked second in the state for fund raising for scholarships and fellowships, all accomplished through our annual book sale. We take that scholarship mission very seriously: This year we expanded our funding to include a student in the Sister City of Kokolopuri (Africa) and local students who were deserving but whose backgrounds did not make the usual scholarship route a fruitful one.

But we don’t take ourselves too seriously! We enjoy meeting with our neighbor branches, going out to movies, discussing books, hearing speakers on a variety of topics, and of course singing at our holiday party.

We are hopeful that with new members we will be able to expand our commitment to the Lobby Corps.  Maybe that new direction will be yours.

Our Member Book, in which each member describes herself in terms of her “loves” and tells why she belongs to AAUW, reflects our diversity and our optimism.  We suggest you read it when you come to a meeting. Our programs will be posted in early Fall, as soon as our program VP sifts through the SurveyMonkey results of our member preferences poll. In the meantime, you can read our newsletter (posted here) or call one of the officers listed below for more information.
