AAUW of Virginia
Fairfax City Branch
in the Northern District

Welcome!  The branch was chartered in July 1973 with 17 members.  Today, we have approximately 55 members from all walks of life, who hail from locations throughout the United States and abroad. Our members live in Fairfax City, Burke, Annandale, Oakton, Fairfax Station, Springfield, Clifton and Centreville.

Annually, we sponsor two events, which are the corner stone of our educational commitment to women and girls.  In the fall, we sponsor a Book and Author Luncheon. Five authors present insights into the fascinating publishing world.  We donate proceeds to the AAUW Educational Foundation and to local scholarships. Each spring we sponsor a math, science and technology career day for middle school girls. Last year over 240 girls attended. Interest groups include Afternoon Bridge, Afternoon Literature, Evening Literature (Night Owls), Musical Notes, and Salon Discussion.
